Why Advice Needs Understanding First

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received was simple but powerful: never advise someone you don’t know closely. Advice without understanding the person’s life, struggles, and context can sometimes do more harm than good. Real guidance comes only with empathy, trust, and genuine connection.

  2. Agree, often people jump in to give advice without really knowing what someone’s going through and it can end up feeling more hurtful than helpful. So the best thing we can do is just listen and try to understand before we say anything.
