What makes you feel nostalgic?

In my case, childhood was a canvas coloured by outdoor adventures, simple delights, and heartfelt associations. It was a time when the world seemed vast and endless, yet everything we needed was just around the corner.

I remember when it was much easier for parents to take children outdoors. Friends were never far away. Peals of laughter, shared games, and boundless energy surrounded homes. Climbing trees, playing local games, and creating little adventures in every neighbourhood nook came instinctively to us.

Music was our constant companion. The radio was always on, playing well—written, composed, and sung film songs. The melodies seemed to weave themselves into the fabric of our everyday lives, blending effortlessly with the sound of nature.

Nature was our playground. Rivers and paddy fields stretched endlessly, offering serenity and freedom. These landscapes were alive with stories and discoveries, their beauty etched deeply into my memories.

My mother was at the centre of this; she tirelessly prepared meals for us all to come together and share. Her cooking carried more than just flavours; it had love, a tradition that filled the house with warmth and belonging.

Though life has rapidly changed, these moments stay close to my heart. They remind me of a time when life was simpler, joys were shared, and every day felt like an adventure.

What is it that makes you nostalgic?
