What is good about having a pet?

Pets provide companionship and happiness, sometimes leaving indelible marks in life through stories of love and sacrifice. This is a story about my black cat, a loyal friend who made a big impression on my life.

Life with My Black Cat:
In my early adult years, I lived alone in my maternal house, surrounded by the calm beauty of long rice fields. My black cat had been my companion for more than three years continuously. It would sit on the fence post every evening and wait for me whenever I returned home, which comforted my lonely days.

Our Morning Rituals:
Every morning, I would go out to stretch, and ahead of me, my full-of-energy and spirit cat would run. These simple moments became our cherished routine and strengthened the bond we shared.

A Moment of Sacrifice:
One morning, while following our daily routine, my cat darted ahead to meet a poisonous snake standing at my door. In the wink of a moment, it engaged the snake, thus saving me from possible harm. At this tussle, both my brave cat and the snake died. That act of loyalty and courage left an indelible mark on my heart.

The Aftermath:
The loss was profound. My faithful companion had lost their life for me. Since then, I have never kept any other pet, but the memory of my black cat and its sacrifice in such a brave way remained with me as a testimony to our bond.

Conclusion:
Losing a pet is never easy, especially one that becomes integral to your life. Their love, loyalty, and heroism create memories that last forever. Do you have a pet whose memory you hold dear? Please share your story and celebrate the connections that make pets such particular parts of our lives.
