What’s the trait you value most about yourself

If there is one trait I hold in higher regard than any other, it is empathy. Growing up in Kerala, my parents, especially my father, showed acts of kindness and compassion wherever they went. They always came forward for others, extending their helping hand whenever needed. From them, I learned that being empathetic doesn’t mean just understanding someone; rather, it is taking the pain to make time to make a difference in another person’s life.

In my professional life, I try to carry this sense of empathy with me. Whether it is supporting a colleague or comforting someone in need, empathy creates an understanding and comfortable environment, I truly believe. This quality has helped me relate to people from all walks of life and build meaningful relationships, hence enriching experiences.

It is not a virtue but a way of life that keeps us connected with the earth, makes us compassionate, and is essentially humane. It is the only quality that has guided me and helped me make my surroundings a little brighter.
